David J. Slater
President & CEO,
Hillsborough Resources Limited
David Slater was born in Zimbabwe. He started his business career as an articled clerk with a firm of chartered accountants, and then moved on to banking. A year in the financial hub of London resulted in a decision to emigrate from his birthplace, and he found himself in Toronto, recruited by a major Canadian bank. In 1986 he was transferred to Vancouver. |
After increasingly senior positions in banking, latterly with ABN AMRO, the giant Dutch bank, Slater engineered the 1998 takeover of Hillsborough Resources Limited, and has seen it grow from a one-mine entity to the multi-mine, multi-prospect company it is today.
He is married with two children and three grandchildren. Next to his family and Hillsborough, golf is the great passion of his life. |

Paul Krivokuca
Chief Operating Officer, Underground Operations
Paul completed his Bachelors Degree at the University of Evansville and attended the Mining Program at Penn State University. Including a solid grounding in frontline safety and production responsibilities, Paul has over 30 years of experience in providing senior leadership to mining operations, both on domestic and international levels. |
His accomplishments include operational excellence in safety, human resource management, productivity, and cost control. Currently Paul has overall responsibility for the Quinsam Mine operations on Vancouver Island. Paul is also responsible for assessment of further business opportunities around underground mining.

David Fawcett
Senior Vice President Development
David Fawcett is a Professional Mining Engineer whose extensive career in the coal mining business in Western Canada has spanned over 30 years. His background covers a diverse group of skill sets including exploration, conducting feasibility studies, operational experience, senior and executive positions, marketing and technical support.

David has worked in a variety of high profile organizations including the Consolidation Coal Company, B.C. Hydro (Hat Creek Coal) Denison Mines, and Smokey River Coal. David in recent years has been primarily focused in the Northeast coal fields of British Columbia having had stints with Pine Valley Coal, Western Canadian Coal (a founder) and Northern Energy & Mining Inc. David brings his extensive knowledge to the exploration and development of the Five Cabin and related properties which Hillsborough has acquired.
